In a monumental announcement shaking the NBA community, former Memphis Grizzlies star Zach Randolph is officially returning to the franchise—not as a player, but as a co-owner.
Team owner Michael Heisley, in collaboration with the Drew Brees family, confirmed that Randolph will join the Grizzlies’ ownership group starting in 2025. The move marks a historic moment for the franchise, as one of its most beloved figures takes on a leadership and strategic role off the court.
Randolph, affectionately known as “Z-Bo,” was instrumental in the Grizzlies’ “Grit and Grind” era, helping lead the team to multiple playoff appearances and earning two All-Star selections during his time in Memphis. His return as a co-owner signifies a deepening of his legacy and a strong commitment to the community that embraced him as one of their own.
“This is more than basketball—it’s about coming home,” Randolph said in a brief statement. “Memphis made me who I am, and now it’s time to give back in a bigger way.”
