With tensions rising ahead of a highly anticipated SEC showdown, South Carolina Gamecocks’ standout running back Rahsul Faison has sent a bold warning to the Florida Gators, setting the stage for what promises to be a fiery matchup.
In a post-practice interview on Thursday, Faison didn’t hold back when asked about Saturday’s upcoming game in Gainesville. “We’re not coming to play around,” Faison said. “We’re coming to dominate. Florida’s had their moments, but this is our time. Tell them to be ready — because we will be.”
Faison, who has emerged as one of the breakout stars of the 2025 season, has rushed for over 800 yards and 9 touchdowns through just seven games. Known for his speed, physicality, and vocal leadership, his message was clearly aimed at motivating both teammates and unsettling the opposition.
The Gators, who are also enjoying a strong campaign, have not responded publicly to Faison’s remarks. However, insiders say the comments have added fuel to what was already shaping up to be a key SEC East clash with serious postseason implications.
South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer appeared unfazed by Faison’s confident words, stating, “Rahsul is a competitor. He believes in this team, and that’s the mindset we need going into big games.”
Saturday’s matchup will not only test Faison’s mettle but also give fans a thrilling look at two rising SEC powers colliding on the national stage. Kickoff is set for 3:30 PM ET at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, and all eyes will be on whether Faison and the Gamecocks can back up the talk with a performance to match.
Stay tuned for further updates as the countdown to kickoff continues.
