In a stunning development, current Kansas State Wildcats men’s basketball head coach Jerome Tang has reportedly reacted in “shock and disbelief” after former head coach Bruce Weber submitted a detailed report to the NCAA alleging multiple potential violations during the transition period between coaching regimes.
Sources close to the situation say the report includes claims of improper recruiting contacts, misuse of team facilities during restricted periods, and potential academic support improprieties. While none of the allegations have been confirmed by the NCAA, the report has reportedly prompted an immediate preliminary inquiry.
“I had no idea such concerns existed. I have always maintained a program built on integrity and compliance,” Coach Tang stated during an impromptu press conference Tuesday morning. “If any of these claims are true, they absolutely predate my time here or happened without my knowledge.”
Bruce Weber, who stepped down from the program in 2022, has not made a public statement but is said to have submitted the report last week following what insiders describe as “long-held concerns about ethical lapses.”
The NCAA has yet to release an official statement regarding whether a formal investigation will proceed.
