In a powerful act of compassion and leadership off the field, New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore has made headlines today by donating his entire annual salary and personally investing $9.5 million to convert a historic property in New Orleans’ Central City neighborhood into a state-of-the-art shelter for homeless youth.

The facility, set to be called “Moore House”, will offer transitional housing, educational support, mental health services, job training, and mentorship programs for unhoused youth aged 16 to 24. The initiative is being developed in collaboration with local nonprofits and city officials and is expected to open by early 2026.

“I’ve been given a platform and resources, and it’s my responsibility to use them where they matter most,” Moore said at a press conference earlier today. “These kids deserve safety, opportunity, and a future—and we’re going to give them that.”

The NFL community and public figures across the country are praising Moore’s extraordinary gesture, calling it one of the most impactful philanthropic acts in recent sports history.
