ESPN COMFIRM: Chicago white approved $448 millions stadium Renovation project for 2025 and but…see more.

In a major move aimed at revitalizing their home turf, the Chicago White Sox have officially approved a $448 million renovation plan for Guaranteed Rate Field, ESPN confirmed Wednesday. The massive overhaul is scheduled to begin in early 2025, with completion expected before the start of the 2027 MLB season.

The renovation will focus on modernizing fan amenities, expanding hospitality spaces, and introducing cutting-edge sustainability features, including solar roofing and green water systems. Plans also include a redesigned outfield concourse, enhanced food and beverage options, and improved accessibility for fans with disabilities.

However, the project is not without controversy. Sources tell ESPN that a portion of the funding may involve public money, sparking criticism from local officials and community groups. Additionally, there are concerns about possible disruptions to the 2025 and 2026 seasons, with some games potentially being moved to alternate venues during construction phases.

White Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf stated, “This renovation is about investing in the future of baseball on the South Side. We’re committed to keeping the team competitive and creating a next-generation fan experience.”
