ESPN has confirmed that the Central Panthers organization has officially approved a massive $337 million renovation project for their home stadium, slated to begin in early 2025. The plan includes major upgrades to modernize the stadium while maintaining its current seating capacity of 75,525.
The project, backed by both private investment and city funding, is aimed at enhancing the fan experience, boosting safety, and preparing the stadium for potential future events, including playoff games and major concerts. Renovation highlights include upgraded seating, expanded concourses, improved accessibility, a state-of-the-art video board system, and new energy-efficient lighting.
“This is more than a renovation — it’s a reinvestment in our city, our fans, and the future of sports entertainment in the Carolinas,” said Panthers President Mark Ellis. “The upgraded stadium will reflect the energy and passion of our fans, while offering world-class amenities.”
Construction is expected to be phased to minimize disruption during the 2025 NFL season. Further details regarding contractor partnerships, final design plans, and completion timelines will be announced later this summer.
The Panthers’ commitment to staying in Charlotte with this long-term investment has been praised by local leaders and fans alike.
