Sanford, New York — On Friday afternoon, a dump truck crashed into a house in Upstate New York, killing one and wounding two.
The fatal incident occurred in Sanford, a Southern Tier village located around thirty minutes east of Binghamton, at 3:11 p.m.
According to a news release from the New York State Police, the dump truck struck a house on Old Plank Road. According to troopers, the driver of the vehicle, a 29-year-old man, was declared deceased at the site.
Troopers reported that three individuals were inside the one-story house at the time of the accident: a 40-year-old lady, a 22-year-old male, and a 10-year-old son.

To Albany Medical Center, the boy was airlifted. The state of the child’s injuries and their severity were not disclosed by the troopers.
Troopers added that the woman was treated by EMS on the spot. The man, who was 22 years old, was unharmed.
According to troopers, the cause of the crash is still unknown. Investigations into the disaster are still ongoing.
The identities of the individuals inside the Old Plank Road and the dump truck driver are still under investigation.
Eastern Broom Emergency Services and the Deposit Fire Department also rushed to the site with troopers.
