Ivo Grbić, who spent the most of the winter transfer window linked to Sheffield United, eventually completed his move from Atletico Madrid at the end of January.
The athlete has now provided an explanation of his situation and an explanation for the delays, since the move took longer than everyone concerned would have liked.
When questioned about his January transfer to Sheffield United and the Premier League, the goalkeeper discussed all the challenges when speaking with Croatia’s Večernji List.
“Atletico Madrid was in an extremely challenging condition. They were unwilling to let me leave, and the bargaining was rather tense. I received a series of medical exams over many days after coming to England. I had some sort of issue, but later on, when they did further tests on me in London, they discovered nothing was wrong. As it happened, I recovered from a serious infection. I later had to deal with a visa for a few days.
Grbić was brought in to help the Blades avoid losing to the Championship, but he was forced into the starting lineup and missed time due to a head injury.
He has provided an explanation of the circumstances and the reason he had to heed the medical advise given: “I didn’t think it was a huge deal when I got hit. However, the club physician noticed a problem and prohibited me from playing the rest of the match. My responses to his inquiries indicate that he was aware of the signs of a concussion.
We even got into a little argument on the field since I wanted to keep playing. However, as soon as I stepped up on the bench, I started to feel lightheaded and headachey. The physician was accurate.
