City.Yesterday morning, at around 2:10 a.m., an incident occurred on the Ballynahonemore Road in Armagh
At the site, the driver and three passengers—who have not yet been officially named—were pronounced dead.
This is “an unspeakable tragedy for the families involved, and for the wider community, who will understandably struggle to comprehend such loss of life,” according to PSNI District Commander Superintendent Paul McGrattan.
“A thorough and sensitive investigation is now under way and anyone with information that could assist us is asked to get in touch with the Collision Investigation Unit,” he stated.
Ballynahonemore Road was closed for the majority of the day, and police remained on the site.
Separately, a 40-year-old pedestrian lost his life in a Newry traffic accident.
At approximately 10.40 p.m. on Saturday, there was a collision on the Forkhill Road involving a man and an automobile.
After being brought to the hospital, the man passed away from his wounds.
Locals have identified the man as 32-year-old Lee Holt, who was shot and killed, allegedly by a 14-year-old child.
It is understood that Mr. Holt, who lives in Oswaldtwistle, near Accrington, has a young daughter. Last night, he was struck once in the chest at a home on Barnard Close.
A 14-year-old boy was detained by police on suspicion of murder.
It is thought that Mr. Holt, who worked for a nearby tarmacing company painting road markings, had been going to the address, which is a contemporary semi-detached home tucked away in a peaceful cul-de-sac.
It is believed that he went there on Wednesday night to talk about reports of bullying at a nearby school between kids.
